What is an E-Nectar Collector?

An Electronic Nectar Collector, also known as an E-Nectar Collector is an all-in-one battery powered vape, where one side is used to vaporize concentrates as the user inhales from the mouthpiece on the other side.

Traditional Nectar Collector vs Electronic Nectar Collector

Traditional Nectar Collectors use a nail (titanium , quartz or ceramic) attached to a glass or silicone mouthpiece, which is then heated using a torch. Once heated the nail is run alongside the edge of the concentrate to vaporize, while simultaneously inhaling from the mouthpiece.

There are several reasons for the innovation of the E-Nectar Collector and why they have quickly become the concentrate consumption device of choice for waxheads.

The Traditional Nectar Collector requires a torch, which can...

  1. Be very dangerous.
  2. Heat the nail unevenly.
  3. Not indicate what temp the nail has achieved (unless using a temp reader).
  4. Nail vaporization rate decreases once the torch flame stops touching the nail.

The new and improved E-Nectar Collectors which DO NOT require a torch…

  1. Still have a very hot tip and can be dangerous.
  2. Will have an evenly heated coil or tip.
  3. Will allow for many temperature options.
  4. Maintain temperature throughout the dabbing session.

Besides the convenience, accuracy and relative safety of an Electronic Nectar Collector, possibly the most crucial difference between a Traditional Nectar Collector and an E-Nectar Collector is the ability to maintain the nail or coil temperature during the dabbing process. With a Traditional Nectar Collector, which is heated with a torch initially, once the torch flame stops touching the nail, the nail will begin to cool, lowering the nail’s vaporization rate (ability to vaporize concentrate).

With E-Nectar Collectors, the heat of the tip or coil is maintained with the battery throughout the heating cycle. This temperature control allows for a more controlled and customized experience, while maintaining the vaporization rate throughout the heating cycle.

Today’s modern world of dabbing is ripe with new innovations and new ways to consume concentrates. The more we learn about the almighty herb, from the different particles and chemical compounds involved, to how they change when exposed to different heating elements and methods, the more specific our techniques of consumptions become. The development of different methods of concentrate consumption are all tailored around making sure that you have the best experience and to provide enough versatility for you to be able to pick your preferred method of consuming your concentrates.

One such way is through nectar collectors. They work by heating up the tip with a blow torch. Typical nectar collectors are effective but using a butane torch to heat up the tip to extreme temperatures can be dangerous for some consumers. This is where Electric Nectar Collectors, or E-Nectar Collectors, come in. They work just like the typical nectar collectors, except they are powered by electricity, so no blow torch is necessary, and are a lot more convenient. Similar to voltage pen batteries, in which you can change the heat settings, E-Nectar Collectors work the same way, but better.

How to Use an E-Nectar Collector

Electronic Nectar Collectors, also known as E-Nectar Collectors, typically have the following functions:

  • Press 5x to turn on/off
  • Press 3x to change the heat settings
  • Press 2x to begin heating cycle

How to Dab with an E-Nectar Collector

  1. Turn on the device
  2. Select your desired temperature setting
  3. Allow 10-30 seconds for the tip to reach desired temperature. (Time will vary depending upon the e-nectar collector)
  4. While inhaling, run the E-Nectar Collector tip along the edge of the concentrate, making sure never to dip the tip directly into the concentrate.
  5. Remove the tip from the concentrate prior to the heating cycle ending, to prevent wasting any concentrate which has not been fully vaporized.
  6. You may consider running another cycle to ensure full consumption of any concentrate on the coil, or as a cleaning cycle to vaporize any excess concentrate.

E-Nectar Collectors offer not only a more convenient way to dab but are also extremely portable and clean. All you need with you is your device and a glass or silicone jar filled with your concentrates. To use, simply turn on your device, adjust it to your desired temperature, engage the heating cycle allowing 10-30 seconds for the coil to heat up, and begin dabbing. When dabbing it is always recommended to slightly touch the edge of the concentrates with the coil tip, never dipping it into concentrate. Dipping your coil will oversaturate the coil, lessening the cloud size in the process, while also causing concentrate to drip off (reclaim), wasting that concentrate, or at least not getting the most out of it. Understand when the heating cycle will end and be sure to remove the tip from the concentrate a few seconds before to fully vaporize whatever material may be on the coil. You may engage a second heating cycle to finish that material, have another session, or clean the coil from the excess concentrate. If you are looking for a hot temp experience, allow the device to heat for 2 heating cycles, only dabbing towards the end of the second cycle will create the hottest tip temp and largest cloud. Keeping the tip clean will help maintain the taste of your experience.

Maintaining a Nectar Collector or E-Nectar Collector

Once you’ve gotten the hang of operating a nectar collector, whether it be an electronic Nectar collector or torch nectar collector, , you’ll need to maintain it. Ultimately, cleaning it after each use will keep the actual cleaning process simple, fast, and efficient, but if you can’t do that, try to clean it after each third or fourth use. This is also to prevent any residual concentrates to be left on the coil and to ensure that your hits are fresh every sesh.

Cleaning a nectar collector is rather straightforward via two methods:

  • Over-saturating the coil will decrease the coil’s vaporization rate (decreasing the cloud size). It is always recommended to slightly touch the edge of the concentrates with the coil tip, never dipping it into concentrate. Doing a cleaning cycle (heating the coil once or twice while not touching any concentrates) will prevent gunking of your coil while increasing the lifespan and taste.
  • Ideally after every use, by the end of the second cycle (a frequent clean method) no vapor should be rising from the coil, meaning there are no excess concentrates remaining. This can be done by waiting for optimal heating temp of the device to consume the appropriate amount based on the coils vaporization rate, then running a second cycle after with little to no additional concentrates touching the coil.

How to Clean an E-Nectar Collector

  • The easiest way to clean an E-nectar collector is to not get it dirty to begin with by following our proper vaping and maintaining tips above.
  • To clean your e-nectar collector, run one or two heating cycles without touching any concentrates.
  • Or soak a long cotton swab in our Formula 710 Cleaning Solution then clean the airway of your device to remove any remaining reclaim.

E-Nectar Collector Storage

Proper storage of your nectar collector will elongate your products lifespan. Keeping your device in a safe case is recommended, as some coils and devices are more fragile than others. So, find a safe spot to store your nectar collector and take it with you to use at your desired time and place.

E-Nectar Collectors Today & Into The Future

As E-nectar collectors begin to grow in popularity their designs, functionality and attachments will change.

Currently there are a few different E-nectar collector coil or E-Nectar Collector Tip designs

  • Crushed Quartz
  • Ceramic Rod with Titanium Coil wrapped around it
  • Ceramic Tube

They each have their pro’s and con’s.

  • Crushed quartz offers a large cloud, but not the best taste.
  • Ceramic Rod offers a smoother experience and better taste than the quartz.
  • Ceramic Tube offers the best taste and a large cloud.

Some E-Nectar Collectors offer water filtration whether through..

  • An adapter used to hook up to a waterpipe
  • A bubbler attachment that attaches directly to the device
  • A mouthpiece with an integrated bubbler
  • There are other universal water bubbler attachments, like from VapeBrat which can attached to any nectar collector, e-nectar collector or pen.

Most e-nectar collectors currently come with an integrated battery setup which has it’s pro’s and con’s.

  • Integrated battery devices (the battery is pre-installed and cannot be removed or replaced) suffer the same fate as all lithium-ion battery powered devices, after sometime they don't hold their charge as long and are not as powerful.
  • You don't need an external battery charger for an integrated battery device, however you also can't easily swap out a dead battery for a fully charged one in a time of need.
  • There is currently one non-integrated battery powered e-nectar collector which is the huni badger.

Temperature Settings vary from device to device

  • With the coolest option being an inhale activated e-nectar collector, others offer temperatures ranging from 250-700+ Degrees. We are sure to note the temperatures of each device inside the additional information tab on each product page. You may also sort through temperatures using the filters under the e-nectar collector category.

Button Operated E-Nectar Collector vs Inhale Activated E-Nectar Collector

  • Most Electronic Nectar Collectors on the market are button activated, which allows for the coil to heat up before dabbing, however there are a handful of devices which are inhale activated, requiring the use to inhale in order to heat the coil.

In Conclusion

Electronic Nectar collectors are a great choice for those looking for a quick, efficient, effective and customizable dabbing experience. If you don't already own one, we surely recommend adding one to your collection, if not making it the first concentrate device you purchase.
