What is the Best Nail to Use With My Nectar Collector?

Quartz- Quartz is popular with concentrates because of its heat retention. Heat retention depends on the thickness of your nail. Quartz is a great option for lower temperature dabs, however it can withstand high temperatures over time with less likely to crack.

Silicon Carbide- Usually abbreviated SiC, this nail heats quickly and maintains heat evenly in order to get the most out of your concentrates. Silicon Carbide is a cleaner option when it comes to dabbing, it retains heat, and .. oh yeah its bulletproof, we do not recommend testing this out though.

Ceramic- This material is sometimes used for flower/dry herb, it is a slow heating material and can be used for lower temp dabs as well. However if you use this nail for concentrates instead of flower you might find that the taste of your dabs might be altered.

Titanium- Titanium is ideal for higher temp dabs, it does take a longer to heat up however it retains heat longer than quartz would, and cools off faster than ceramic. When titanium is heated until it is bright red it can reach temperatures of 1,200 - 1,500 degrees! Titanium is loved by many because of its durability. If you are looking for flavor, keep in mind, some say that they get a slight metal taste when using titanium.

Quick Tip:

Maintaining a Nectar Collector

Once you’ve gotten the hang of operating a nectar collector, whether it be electronic or analog, you’ll need to maintain it. Ultimately, cleaning it after each use will keep the actual cleaning process simple, fast, and efficient, but if you can’t do that, try to clean it after each third or fourth use.

Cleaning a nectar collector is rather straightforward via two methods:

Another thing to remember is that storing your nectar collector properly is important. Because these devices usually do not have a flat base, they can roll around and knock into other objects, potentially causing damage. So, find a safe spot to store your nectar collector where it will not risk breaking.
