Edible Dosing 101 - Find The Perfect “Sweet Spot” THC Guide
These days edibles are widely available, already pre packaged with a specific number of milligrams assigned to each piece. We have come a long way from making our own edibles in our kitchens or getting them from a friend. Even with all this information available, some people might be a bit lost when it comes to dosing, how much is too much?
What Happens When You Consume THC?

Edible dosing might be a little dicey especially for beginners. Consuming your thc is very different from smoking or dabbing, the effects of your edibles will be gradual rather than instant. It can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes, sometimes up to 2 hours for consumed thc to kick in, this greatly depends on your metabolism. Your edible has to travel through your digestive system and then your liver processes its thc contents, once the thc is converted, your high can sometimes be more powerful than you anticipated.
A good rule of thumb is to start off with a low dose and increase it if needed! It's better off to be mildly high and work your way up, rather than being violently high with no way out hahahah!
Edible Dosing Chart
The standard dose for edibles is around 10 milligrams, this will get you a good effect without it being “too much”. If you are looking to microdose your edibles, start off with 1-2.5mg for a practical and gentle effect.

Be patient with your dosing! After your initial onset, if you feel like you want something more intense you can increase your dose after 45 minutes has passed. See how you feel! Go from there!
What Happens If You Eat Too Many Edibles?
The good news is, nothing. You might be a little more incapacitated than you originally planned for, but some snacking, water, and rest should have you back at it within a few hours.

For the ones that are wondering - no, you can't overdose on edibles.
How Long Does the Effects of Edibles Last?
The duration of effects after consuming thc will vary depending on the dose and your metabolism. You can expect it to last anywhere from four to eight hours, usually peeking around two hours and gradually decreasing from there!

Quick Tips:
- Very high thc dosing, around 50-100mg should only be acceptable for people that have a higher tolerance or medical patients seeking relief. If a friend is encouraging you to consume this kind of dose as a beginner, please, don't.
- Make sure you are mindful of layering your doses of THC. If you are consuming edibles, you should wait a couple of hours before smoking or dabbing so that everything doesn't hit you all at once!

- Microdosing with edibles is truly a wonderful thing when done right, low doses of thc for maintenance purposes can be extremely beneficial especially for those managing pain etc.
- Beginners should avoid mixing alcohol with edibles. Adding alcohol into the mix can greatly increase the risk of negative side effects.
